The benefits of Health Off Site – both for employer and employee
Being able to offer your employees a comprehensive, private medical examination for example – is a highly desirable benefit in more ways than one.
It helps employers identify employees who are at risk from a medical condition whom they can then fast track for treatment before the condition becomes serious.
Early intervention lessens the likelihood of long term sickness.
This service can also be promoted as a benefit to add to their employment package – offered as an annual check-up to key members of the management team, for instance - and thereby aid recruitment and retention of high calibre people.
What Health Off Site offers
Our Health Off Site screens provide thorough medical examinations including in-depth investigations for signs of heart disease and cancer, as well as blood pressure and cholesterol checks and much more.
This can be vitally important, as early detection and treatment of conditions such as raised cholesterol and breast cancer can significantly improve the chances of making a complete recovery.
And, when this is accompanied by expert advice on healthier living, the prospects of your employees' long term good health can be improved even more.
Health Off Site screens are carried out by doctors and your employee is guided through the tests by a nurse. Health screens are, of course, carried out off-site at a convenient local AXA ICAS approved clinic.
Results will usually be received straight away, which gives the doctor the opportunity to discuss them with the individual before they leave the health screening centre. A personal medical report detailing all test results (and their meanings) plus recommendations for improving and maintaining health, will be sent to the employee's address within 14 days of their health screen.
In addition, where consent is given by the employee, an Occupational Health Physician from AXA ICAS will receive a copy of the medical report and may – with the agreement of the employee – notify the employer in cases where work-related implications are apparent.
A full Health Off Site screen generally includes:
height and weight
body mass index
resting blood pressure
resting electrocardiogram (ECG)
urinalysis
hearing test
vision test
lung function test
bowel cancer test (over 50 years of age)
chest x-ray if clinically indicated
biochemistry profile
haematology profile
cholesterol test
personal medical report – including all test and a commentary on their meaning plus recommendations for improving and maintaining good health.
